What is Quartz powder?
Quartz powder is made of pure quartz (natural quartz or fused quartz) after crushing, sorting, cleaning, acid treatment, high temperature melting, medium crushing, fine grinding, grading, iron removal and other processes that meet the requirements of use.
Production process of quartz powder
Quartz powder is divided into two production methods, dry method and water method, with various conventional specifications: 100M, 150M, 200M, 325M, 400M, 600M, 1500M and 2000M (M is the mesh). In addition, special-shaped specifications can also be processed according to customer requirements, and generally can be processed if particle size distribution is required.
The main equipment for producing quartz powder by dry method is stone crushing machine, grinder, vibrating screen, etc. The technological process is that the quartz stone material is processed into smaller stones by a knocking stone machine, and the stones are processed by a grinder to process sand, and then sieved through a vibrating screen. During the sieving process, a magnet rod and a row of magnets are used to remove iron, and then packed Finished warehousing.
The main equipment for producing quartz powder by water method includes stone crushing machine, stone mill, roasting barn, vibrating screen, waterway system, etc.
The process flow is roughly as follows: the quartz stone material is processed into smaller stones by a knocking stone machine, and the stones are then rolled into sand grains. During rolling, water is continuously added, and the water flows into the sedimentation tank with the sand particles, and then the sedimentation tank The sand grains are transported into the baking room and baked into dry sand grains, and then sieved through a vibrating screen. In the sieving process, the magnet rods and row magnets are used to remove iron, and then packed into the warehouse.
Quartz powder produced by dry method is divided into two grades: ordinary quartz powder and refined quartz powder. When the quartz stone is mined from the mountain, it has a yellowish-brown skin. The product selected for direct crushing and screening of smaller quartz stone is called ordinary quartz powder. The appearance is yellowish brown and white. Its advantage is that the price is cheap, but the disadvantage is that there are more impurities, so it is mostly used in the construction industry. After artificially removing the yellow-brown skin on the surface of the mineral material, the refined quartz powder is reprocessed, and its appearance is white and shiny, just like white sugar. The price is higher due to the time-consuming and material cost of the processing.
The quartz powder produced by the water method is divided into ordinary quartz powder and refined quartz powder. The smaller quartz stone is processed into ordinary quartz powder, and the large quartz stone is processed into refined quartz powder. Compared with dry-process quartz powder, water-process quartz powder produces less equipment iron and washes away impurities with water during the production process. For example, the iron content and impurities are less than dry-process quartz powder, but its processing is more labor-intensive. Material, so the price is higher.
What is the use of quartz powder?
Quartz powder is widely used in glass, ceramics, construction, chemicals, machinery, electronics, rubber, coatings, metallurgy, aerospace, aviation and other fields.
